COLERE

 

Packaging concept for a brand of cologne based on Colere (Wrath), one of the seven deadly sins. Using spray paint and poster board, I created patterns by layering the paint over the poster board and then removing paint from certain areas using balled up newspaper. I used these patterns as the basis for the brand's visual identity because I felt that the complex patterns of red and black best embodied the concept of wrath.

 

I then created the wordmark for the brand using a calligraphy brush and black ink, writing out the word 'colere' numerous times until I found one which best suited the brand's visual identity, which I then vectorized and combined with the paint patterns.
